What i'm really complaining about is my parents expectations of me. Because all the averages are so high, they expect me to get above these somewhat huge averages. Whereas i'm perfectly happy getting my 80%, pretty much an A/A* GCSE depending on the year.
So anyone else think people have too high expectations of them?
Sounds like you're happy to work to your own standards, and I think you're all the better for it.
There's always someone better than you, so if you always compare yourself to everyone else how can you ever really succeed?
As for your parents? Have you tried explaining to them that you're working hard, getting A/A* standard, and generally doing your best?
If so, or if that doesn't help, I guess you just have pushy parents. Maybe they want you to succeed where they failed, maybe they want to keep up with the neighbours, probably they just want you to achieve the best that you can.
But ultimately if they won't listen to reason you'll probably just have to put up with their pushing.
Good luck with it.
