I go to a private school, one of the top five best in the country. It's a great school i love it, the people the sports, it's great. But then there's the work. I'm not the brighest spark in the world and i do know hoe many beans make five, but compared to some of the kids at school i'm an idiot. They all get 100% in their tests while there's me getting my 80 odd. Because they all get so high, the average is always over 90, thus making me seem stupid.

What i'm really complaining about is my parents expectations of me. Because all the averages are so high, they expect me to get above these somewhat huge averages. Whereas i'm perfectly happy getting my 80%, pretty much an A/A* GCSE depending on the year.

So anyone else think people have too high expectations of them?

I guess it's just a matter of how you judge yourself - you can either set your own standards and goals, or try to match everyone elses'.

Sounds like you're happy to work to your own standards, and I think you're all the better for it.
There's always someone better than you, so if you always compare yourself to everyone else how can you ever really succeed?

As for your parents? Have you tried explaining to them that you're working hard, getting A/A* standard, and generally doing your best?

If so, or if that doesn't help, I guess you just have pushy parents. Maybe they want you to succeed where they failed, maybe they want to keep up with the neighbours, probably they just want you to achieve the best that you can.
But ultimately if they won't listen to reason you'll probably just have to put up with their pushing.

Good luck with it.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
