I did a search on Yahoo.com and came with nothing. Did the "model name codes". You might be able to get it chipped. But if you have a multi-region player already then its not too disappointing if it only plays region 2.
I've already got a multi regional player, s'just I want a new stereo and this one looks nice, is made by LG who I like. The DVD thang is just a cool bonus, and I just wanted to know if I could make this one play my R1 DVDs so I can put my old player downstairs.

Have you bought this yet? If you havent then you may wish to consider that you can get a decent multi region player for £70 and some 5.1 speakers for £70. For example in SR the Arianet 2255 for £70 has a built in 5.1 decoder so you only need to get the speakers which SR do for as little as £65. Also the player could play MP3 cds, vcds, svcds etc.
