As a PS2 owner, I am always looking across the Internet for news and screenshots of the games coming to the PS2.

Most Dreamcast owners and to be-GameCube owners are saying that the worst thing about the PS2 was the lack of quality games.

A the moment, I'm content with playing Tekken Tag Tournament, Smuggler's Run and SSX, while also playing my lovely PSX games!!

But, the last few days, I've been hearing LOADS of great news about new PS2 games.

I've seen screenshots of the sequel to the excellent PSX title Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2. The shots look awesome, and this game is sure to be one of the PS2's finest.

Also, I've seen pics of Star Wars Starfighter, to be released this month I believe. The shots of this game are amazing, and it seems as though LucasArts have done a fine job with this one. Everything I've heard about this game is great, and I'm sure it won't disappoint.

The game I'm mostly looking forward to at the moment has to be Zone Of The Enders, made by the man behind Metal Gear Solid and MGS2, Hideo Kojima. This game is set to be the best Mech game ever, with superb graphics and gameplay to match!!
And of course, with this game comes a demo of all proportions....a demo of what's set to be the most spectacular game for years to come...a PLAYABLE demo of....METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY!!

MGS2 is set to amaze people around the World, from the tiny country of San Marino (I think! {:)) to all over Europe and the USA.
The shots of this game are jaw-dropping, and when you think of how brilliant Metal Gear Solid was, it makes your mouth water to think of how MGS2 plays, and what plot twists and suprises are set to come.

Now, just to get away from Kojima's masterpiece for the moment, there is of course the best driving game set to make it's presence felt on the PS2. I am of course talking about Gran Turismo 3. With SPLENDIFOROUS graphics, and superb gameplay, and nearly all the cars in the world, surely this game will not fail?!?!?!

The gripping Final Fantasy series is set to continue on PS2, which will also carry the PS2's success even further.

So with all these games to come, and many more including Theme Park, GTA 3D and Resident Evil: Code Veronica, I am looking forward to an brilliant future, playing on my PlayStation 2.

Thanks for reading, Ant.

I agree with you that games which slip are a pain in the @r$e!!! I have a DC and have had to put up with games slipping, MSR is a prime example. Now that it is released it is one of the best driving games ever! However, if it had been released when it was initially supposed to, i think it would have been nothing more than an average racer.
What im trying to say is that if you want quality games you have to put up with slippages, although the PS2 does seem to be having more than its fair share. Maybe thats why the console hasnt taken off to well in the USA, but what can Sony do? If they release the games early they wont be too good so people wont buy the console. If they wait til the games are ready then people wont buy the console 'cos there no good games!
Its a vicious circle, one which hopefully the X-Box wont fall into.

But how many times have we had release dates pushed further and further behind schedule? MGS2, we're now told Feb 2002, as other people on this forum have said, will 'wetting the appetite' with a playable demo at the end of the month just pi$$ us off more about the delay of the game. MGS2 is only an example, many games have been delayed and many more will be delayed. We'll need to wait and see how soon these 'decent' releases will take to make it to the shelves but I'd be prepared for a dribble opposed to a deluge.

All that said, these are still future releases. At the moment I only have SSX and TTT, got money burning a hole in my pocket and to be honest, not many games worth getting. I'm holding out for StarWars, this should keep me happy for a while but there's no denying the disappointing selection of games available here, compared to those available in the US. I know we were a few months behind on the console release but should we still be playing catch up 5 months down the line? How hard can it be to convert from US format to UK format? Not being a programmer, I honestly don't know the answer to this but I doubt it's rocket science!!! Looking back to 30/12/00 (when I found PS2's on the shelves in Virgin, HMV and Dixons in Milton Keynes), I really don't know what I gained in buying one then, oh, maybe SSX, it IS the dogz ballz!!! We've had arguments in our office since the PS2 release, 10 or so have PS2's, 5-6 in our group want them but don't see the point in buying one just yet due to the games on offer. Their argument is 'they have a DC and what can the PS2 offer at the moment that the DC doesn't? I've tried to argue the PS2 case but as every Friday goes past, I can't help but see their point. WHEN WILL WE START GETTING SOME DECENT RELEASES????
