I've brought a relatively cheap (£90...) Mustek camera off eBay a year ago and although it does pretty well all that I need a camera to do right now, one thing that's always bugged me is the unreliability of the USB connection to my PC when I want to upload images.

I understand you can also get card readers that'll read the SD cards for you - and from what I've heard, this is a much improved, reliable means of getting photos etc. on to your PC.

So, I'd like to ask those of you 'in the know' where I should be looking to buy one (eBay?) and what I should be looking out for.

I've seen a load on eBay as well, but I don't know how to sort between them. They all seem to be priced very damn cheaply, a number of them come from Hong Kong - but are any of them any good?

As always, thanks for all your help, guys! It's much appreciated.

To be honest, most of them are much of a muchness. You can pop into any fairly large Tesco and get a decent one for under a tenner. That said, if you feel like opening your PC case, you can get a decent one that slots in the front of your PC from ebuyer (who also do some cheap USB ones as well).

This one looks fine here

If your getting them from Hong Kong they're cheap but the postage will be around the same price as the item. I bought an MP4 for 1 pence and the postage was 40 quid, its lasted for a year so far, reliable id say. I import alot of stuff from diffrent countries, your basically just cutting out the middle man by buying it from Hong Kong.

If your gonna do it id make sure you get postal insurance with it.

Hope this helps!!
