Do people take no responsibility for their actions these days?

Claims agencies : "I fell over a piece of wood that shouldn't have been there, I got £6000". "I picked up a huge cabinet at work and hurt my back, I got £4000".

Court Cases : Kids shoot shotguns into a main road, killing a driver - "Oh, I played GTA and it made me want to do it". Oh, well, you're obviously not to blame then. Jamie Bulger stoned to death on a railway track - "The children had been recently watching a chuckie movie". Oh well, that explains why, forgive me.

what the hell? It seems the modern world rewards idiocy and complete lack of responsibility. I was watching Silence of the Lambs earlier ...... hmmmmm.
