I just connected my xbox to the telephone cable and it still doesn't work, I never connected myconsole because i never had broadband now i have it but i dont know how to connect it.

hiya mate you need all the right equipment and the phone line is a bad place to start. you need an ethernet crossover cable with an rj45 plug. You then connect that to your modem or router whichever way your doing it (check out the bit on xbox.com for detailed pictures.) if your doing it through the modem then your gonna have to reset your modem every time you change from your xbox to the computer as you can only use one at a time. Im having to do this and i can tell you it is a real pain. it would be far better to use a router but that is a hell of a lot more expensive and it sounds like not all routers work convincingly well with live as i have played with some people who have cheap routers and its not even worth going online as it is nothing but a bad experience. hope this helps if you need anymore help leave a message in this topic.
