Whats the longest one out there?

I want to find a long cable to trial from downstairs to upstairs, to use Xbox live.

It wont be a perminant thing.

Any ideas?

The CAT5 standard supports cables up to 100 metres long before you need a repeater of some kind, but in actuality you can get away with 120-130m before the signal strength drops off, I'm told. You can get cables made to length, it's not difficult to do yourself in fact, although the crimping tool is about £25. Go into Maplins or a decent computer store (maybe even PC World as well) and they should be able to cut and make cable to order.

look on ebuyer.com - there may also be an adaptor to join 2 together if you can't find one long enough ?
I got a one about 30 foot long when I subscribed to NTL broandband :)

Or how about a wireless connection if you have the money ?
