At the dawn of N64 civilisation, legend talked of a whole slew of games, cartridges of such beaty and value that no-one was sure if they ever really existed. The titles are results of Chinese Whispers, hallowed names whispered to children to encourage their sleep, and steadily corrupted during the missing months.
Well without further ado, I show you some of the games that either disappeared or were cancelled a long, long, long time ago.
It shows Nintendo's amazing ability to delay so many games.
Blade and Barrel.
I have never ever heard of this game until I was looking through my old magasins looking for inspiration on something that will win Gameaday, and I have still to fing. I dont get what they want people to write about.
Anyway, this games name was change to Knife Edge(Anybody heard about this???), it was a bit of a strange one. Originally it was under the guidance of Britain's own Software creations, then it seemed to have been taken over by Boss Studios(Top Gear Rally).
I think the idea of this game was sort of like Sim Copter but I am not to sure. It should have been released by THE games(who have been subsequently destroyed by Nintendo).
Doom Absolution. CANCELLED.
According to my sources, this was very mus=ch 'on' at one stage (like quite a few other games that have know been cancelled or delayed!!) but then cancelled quite a LONG time ago. I have not actually found out what it was ment to be, sort of Doom and Doom 2 in 1 game(like the playstation), Final Doom with extra bits???
Apparently it was a rubbish game anyway so good ridance.
Freak Boy. CANCELLED.
Virgin(developer) were never really sure on this themselves(in the name I think!!!!). Freak Boy was a (pffff) 3D adventure featuring a freakish, erm, boy(wow) who paraded about a distincly icy world. It was one of the first third-party developers to annoce a game. It finally seems to have bitten the dust(I think??)
Joust X. CANCELLED.
This sounds like one of those medievil horse things where they run along and try to knock each other of their horses.
Not quite what the developers Midway had in mind(oh well, theres always another time). I dont have a clue what this was meant to be and as its cancelled I don’t really care.
Creator. DISAPPEARED.
Its in the name, you, well, create things (believe it or not). It totally disappeared. I don’t see the point in making stuff. Apparently you could design landscapes, animals and other stuff. Well, not all game ideas work out do they?
Tomb Raider 64. CANCELLED.
I don’t see the point in bringing ANOTHER Tomb Raider game to the gaming world, in all there are about 30 at the last count. Well, it would have been nice (at the beginning). Instead of this, Core were meant to do a fighting game. Did this ever come out.
Kirby’s Air Ride. DISAPPEARED.
Despite this game being showed at the August ‘95’(yes, that long ago) THE games couldn’t put a date to the name. I don’t get what you have to do in this game but it might eventually turn out to be the new Kirby game. ‘Crystal Shards’ is due for release sometime this year (slightly late if you don’t mind me saying).
Wet Corpse. CANCELLED.
Ive never heard of this (again!). Apparently neither had anybody else until a magazine decidedto phone up Vic Tokai and they said and I quote ‘Well, actually, Wet Corpse was cancelled six months ago,’ The reason ‘It just was. One of those things.’
And last but not least(well maybe!!!)
Ultra Descent. CANCELLED.
This didn’t even make the design process (GOOD). I don’t know why I am wasting my time on this game, because it is that damn cra*!!!!
Well I don’t know what the point was in writing this was – I was Bored!!!!!!!

Hope you don’t ever here about ‘Ultra Descent’ again and happy reading (stupid really, if you get here you’ve already read it so I cant change your mind). I’ll shut up now.

Not quite yet with DP, it needs to be confirmed but Eternal Darkness is a big plus.
