What do you think?

Infringement of civil liberties or useful for solving immigration and fraud problems?

In the USA for example, you legally need to carry ID. I hate that.

However David Blunkett has said that it would not be necessary to carry the cards at all times, bit like a drivers license. Although if requested it would have to be handed in to a police station within a week.

Personally I'd like to hide my address from various nutters.

I'm not bothered if we have to carry I.D cards. There's already countless things in my wallet that could be used to identify who I am, Driving Licence, Credit Cards, Library Cards, my NUS Card, my You Persons Railcard, need I go on?...

Microchip implants is a better idea - one's that we can buy and sell with without the need for money. Let's turn The Book of Revelation into a reality.
But seriously, ID cards - no, because... because... Oh I've lost the will-to-live.

I don't like the idea of having all of your details, picture address so on and so forth, on one ID card (the same with Driving Licences and Passports, which many people will be allowed to ask for for identification, because it opens up all sorts of people to your address. I might not want all the people who may be allowed to check my ID card (or Driving Licence etc.) to see my address. I just worry that having compulaory ID cards will result in more people demanding we show them as a form of ID, especially as we could not then say that we don't have one.

I don't know if that makes any sense

A friend of mine had a fake ID.

The only problem is that it was a kit where you had to write the details on it by yourself. He didnt have the clever idea of printing it off on a computer so he wrote on it with his spidery left handed font.

It looked so bad it wasnt even funny, how he got served, i'll never know.

I was going to buy a fake I.D today

But I decided to wait 3-4 months instead... well by wait I mean I still need to chance my arm at getting served but still.

It'll be open to exploitation, just like every other form of ID we have here.
Just another illegal-ID ring for shady people to make a mint on.
