I don't see why anyone would get excited about it.
Most films-o'-games are totally different to their videogame counterparts (Final Fantasy, Street Fighter) and therefore you might as well just watch something like Dawn Of the Dead and pretend it's the Resident Evil film.

If done properly it would be fantastic. Like Hellraiser meets Night of the Living Dead. Sadly it will be pants.
