Though I will have to admit to thinking it was already, I've just read this news report from the BBC.
In short, SPAMMERS (senders of junk mail) could be fined £5,000 by a magistrates court, but will not face any jail time. The law comes into play on 11th December (of this year I believe).
So, some good news at last, though I'm sure it will not result in a complete end to SPAM.
