Though I will have to admit to thinking it was already, I've just read this news report from the BBC.

In short, SPAMMERS (senders of junk mail) could be fined £5,000 by a magistrates court, but will not face any jail time. The law comes into play on 11th December (of this year I believe).

So, some good news at last, though I'm sure it will not result in a complete end to SPAM.

But everyone else calls it the pond. You can't just make up random nicknames for bodies of water: that way anarchy lies.

Surely our friends across the channel are, in fact, the French who were founder members of the EU? Do you mean the pond? And, anyway, isn't most spam sent from China?

alas your joy shall only be shortlived as the fine will only incorporate EU spam when the majority of it come from our 'friends' accross the channel

So do I forward my spam to the nearest police station, or wait for an officer to come round and take down the addresses?
