Well by .com I mean of course all the videogaming sites! But I mean the magazines of today tend to make more of a laugh and a joke of things but a lot of the stuff is very good to read and the news and columns aren't just up-to-date stuff from Japan, they have top ten and reader views. But having said this the news they release is about 1-2 months old, like today for example I was reading a mag, we'll call it Mag X and it had a thing on the X-Box and where as most mags are now comparing the X-Box to Nintendo's GAMECUBE this Mag, Mag X, had, 'first released pictures of the X-Box', now I understand it is hard to get info earlier than everone else something that is normally only done by the japanese.com companies. And this is where they fit in, the .com sites are updated very reularly some worldwide ones every 15 minutes! They have Previews and Reviews, Cheat and Tips and seems to be becoming more and more like an on-line Gaming Magazine! They are very useful and most internet ready gamers by less magazines, of course you can't read PS2I on the toilet so that is where a lot of Magazines come in...Portability! This is a great thing and of course subscribing to NOM is a lot cheaper than hooking a £200 palm-top to your contract mobile, so there Magazines win again but if you were in a room with a computer with internet availability and with a Magazine of the table, one of your choice which would you go for, I would personally choose the internet, the chances are it will be more up to date and you can view a lot of different opinions rather than Just Playstation's or Just Nintendo's. So for me it is the internet, you can get updated news and release dates and they don't just post what you want to hear you want to to try and boost Magazine sales...I feel they are more honest and on the beat, but hey it is an opinion...and well backed up I feel but I am sure that some of you would dive at the table for the Mag and I want to know why!

PS: Remember, this contribution could win you the game of your choice!

Mags are just a supplement of what you see on sites, all the news is old once you see it online first the reviews are completely their own opinion.

Then again magazines sometimes have disturbing images of guys dressed as Obi-one, That sort of content is usually removed from Websites!

We don't really need to go into such detail, because online game sites are more detailed.

Magazines are more targeted towards a particular group than webpages, even within SpecialReserve for example...the club magazine has pictures of page3 models near the FREEBIES (We wish). But the website doesnt, believe me Ive looked!

The point is you can by a magazine to cater for your interests, internet sites tend to be very general and try to cater for all tastes!

Good Point MD, but Magazines nowadays are in quite a lot of competition. There are loads of Playstation Magazines in most high street Newsagents, they far out weigh the multi-console, Nintendo and Sega Magazines put together! So with all this comnpetition we are seeing more and more unique material. The stuff, is purely theirs and the reviews aren't just what everyone else is reviewing! They also, as they are many in number, cater, if you will, for all tastes! There are 'kiddie' approaches to games and then some more serious columns for the serious 'older' gamer!

I think Magazines are good and they do provide a lot of entertainmeny, especially when you're bored, and with Mag's like EDGE and NOM getting ever Fatter and, in a sense, of more value I think some of the up and coming stuff, especially regarding the Next-Gen consoles, will be very interesting and be very informative and interesting for the readers of the Magazine (s). So there is a bonus for buying magaiznes, but on the other hand if you want all the information, and you don't care when internet sites are probably best, and to back this up is the simple fact that the news is fast and it doesn't cost you 50p everytime you visit a site but a decent mag can cost you £3a time and on top of that you won't get to read all the news and NOM aren't going to be publishing the PS2 'Latest News' anytime soon! So That is probably the best reason to go for the internet sites, but then again, no-one has internet access in their toilet, at least I don't hope you do!

Online, sites can be updated many times a day, once a magazine is printed, that's it until next month.

As a result I rarely find anything in magazines that I haven't previously seen online.

I like both
Online magazines are great they give you up to the minute gaming news and often have great disscussion forums(like Special Reserves).
Magazines are also great though (As long as theyre not the Official Console magazines as theyre extremely biased in there reviews!).

The main differnce is that magazines and internet services are targeted towards differnent sections of gamers, they read slightly differently as a result! I wouldnt say one is much better than the other, both medias have alot to offer, however if I had to choose one then Ild choose online magazines, but only because I dont have to pay for them!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
