It was actually during the production of City of Lost Children, although I don't know why, artistic differences I presume. Jeneut went on to helm Alien IV after this.

Shame. The script of Alien IV (Joss Weadon) is actually quite good, having a lot more action and a far, far better hybrid alien at the end. Its weird, but I feel that the strongest points in both Alien III and IV are Finchers and Jeneuts styles respectively, both of while make the films watchable (I *love* Alien 3 BTW)

I haven't seen La Haine yet.

I did watch Irreversible the other day. Quite good, if a little shocking.

Oh yeah, Man Bites Dog is a great film as well.

Fully Agree. I don't know how many times I'v seem COLC.

Interesting trivia for you. In the scene where Krank is dressed as Santa Claus, there were members of a childrens protection group present to stop the kids getting too distressed (as the scene required infants crying.)

Now, during shooting, Jeunet would distract these people, while Caro blew cigar smoke into the kids faces to get them bawling. Quite why this is nessecary when you see the state of Krank, I do not know ;)

I loved Amelie, but La Haine is a different sort of film altogeher, and I think its unfar to compare them when La Haine is a social commentary and Amelie is a fairy tale. The only thing they have in common is being french.

Delicatessen kicks bootie too.

Ohhh, I'd love to see Jeunet and Caro working together gian.
