Time you have left your computer on for?

My dad's is about 3-4 months now.

Mine is about 8 weeks now.

And my sisters is about 2 days.

Mine is starting to running a bit slow now, they are only on for that long because im downloading.

Is there a limit that it should be on befor it really needs to be turned off for a while?

Um... 24 hours.

This PC would self destruct if it were on for MONTHS! It slows to a crawl after just a few hours, only got 256 RAM.

I say on, i mean with restarts.

Just on, so there is constantly power, ya know, so the fans are going round.

Just not turned off, sitting there, doing nothing.

Thats what i say to him, but for me to get onto the internet his computer needs to be on.
He was thinking about getting one of these network/internet rowter things, so that his computer can be off, but i can still get onto the internet.

Is that on as in on with everything going and downloading? the longest mine has been on like that could be something like just over 24 hours. I found that it started to run a bit slower than normal so I switched it off. I usually have it on for about 14-15 hours a day due to downloading.
