Honestly, if I had the money, I'd set it up and run it myself!
My idea is for an online football league.
Nothing new there then?
Oh but there is. There would be a league of say 16 teams. Each week the competitors would have to play 1 game. If you don't play your game, then you lose 3-0. That way, the correct amount of games would be played per week.
The players could buy and sell players to each other, but it would be less of a management sim, it would come down to the skill of playing the games.
I'd like to have a version of ISS specially developed for the game, it could be played over the broadband internet connections of the next generation consoles, so there would be no problems with lag, otherwise the ball would be in the back of the net before the opposition had realised you'd kicked it!
Anyway, here comes the special part. Once all games had been played for one week, a special highlights program would be available on the internet, just like Match of the Day, or something, so you could watch other teams in the league play. There would be goal of the month competitions too.
It would add so much more to the player/manager experience.
As it grows in popularity more leagues could be introduced, then there could be inter-league competitions, much like the European Cup in real football.
I can see it being a success as football is hugely popular. Players would enjoy the challenge of playing against a variety of other human players. The highlights and statistics available via the internet would be the icing on the cake though, adding extra depth to the game.
Would anyone else like to play?
