When i try getting onto my computer it says "Uxtheme.dll not found therefore explorer.exe could not be executed" or somewhere along those lines. This means i can't get to the desktop or have the task bar to appear which means i must run programs from ctrl+alt+del. Do you know how to fix it?

Secondly i can't log onto msn or hotmail. It says i forgot my password for msn and it comes up with page not displayed when i try log onto hotmail.com. I have alot of stuff on my account thats personal so i need it.

Well still, install one of the required patches.
That will fix it.

Sorry. I've never seen this problem before

You've obviously tried to install a custom theme or something, installed the patch you need, and taken it out. Or, not put it in at all.

I'm right with the custom theme thing though, right?

What OS are you on?
XP?

If you've not got SP1 in, download this:

http://download.lightstar1.com/install/PatchXP.zip

If you have, download this:

http://download.lightstar1.com/install/PatchXP-SP1.zip

That'll sort it, as it's a patch to install the uxtheme.dll patch, which is needed to install custom themes.

Hmm - and "Ok.. i seriously need help" is interesting to you is it??!

If you seriously need help then that's all the more reason to be descriptive in your subject.
If you have more than one problem then start a fresh thread for each issue, then people can address the problem AND FIND THEM AGAIN!
Hope this helps you.

How about trying a subject title like: "Uxtheme.dll missing" - Others will then show more interest and people (including yourself) will be able to find this thread in the future.

Also a search on GOOGLE gives 3,800 hits for Uxtheme.dll it is always worth looking here first...
