Yer every day, i do it all the time. Infact im doing it right now.
I was talking to someone a while back about this group of monks that meditate into a state of unconsciousness for 1 hour, but it provides 8-9 hours "shutdown" - ie, sleep. Think what you could do with all that free time. Kinda like being unemployed *sobs*

My philosophy teacher told the whole class when I was doing a-levels.
It basically just progressively relaxing your muscles. Start by focusing on your legs and then move on gradually relaxing your muscles in stages...
And think relaxing thoughts or something...
