Right, i have a cd full of jpeg pictures from my holiday and wanted to transfer them to video, so they can be watched by family etc. Now my dvd is capable of playing Jpeg Cd's but my releatives dvd players arent, and some don't have them. So i tried to put the Cd into my DVD player and record it onto a tape, but it comes out in black and white and seems to "pulse" at the edges, making it largely unviewable. I was just wondering what the problem is and if there is any way to get it to work. Currently my DVD is connected to my TV which is connected to my video recorder, but obviously this setup does not work. I have tried using various Tv's and recorders, scart leads and those other leads but still am unable to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's a fair idea.

Thanks for the help, it has been suggested that i use some program to make a vcd. But for now i'll use the lead i found which reads the card and plays it to the tv. The only problem is it is slower than reading from a disk and the pictures arent in the order i want them to be, but it will have to do for now...

I think Macrovision copy protection is per-disc. This could be enabled on the CD. Tried coaxial?

You can try plugging the SCART out from your DVD player into the SCART in on your VCR and recording from that input.

The thing is DVD players have this thing called Macrovision which scrambles signals when sent to CVRs. I can't remember if it only applies to SCART or if you can bypass it with coaxial or any of that stuff.

My opinion: Try the above setup with SCART and coaxial, it should work. If it doesn't it's probably a result of Macrovision. I think you can buy demacro devices that can help you if this is the case.

Or take your DVD player round to their gaff...?
