If it's of any use, on a PC the cost of online gaming varies depending on a few things. For a start, you have to pick an ISP. A flat rate charge per month is usually pretty good. In my case I then get unlimited evening and weekend access. I used to be on a completely free ISP, but the connections were a bit poor.

Then it depends on what type of game you play. Something like Everquest requires a fee to play the game (never played it, so I can't comment if it's any good). Others (such as UT or Quake III) don't. You have some software locally that detects servers that are running, you pick one, and off you go (hopefully....). So it doesn't have to cost much at all. But obviously the more you pay, the better service you get.

Im not to clever when it comes down to online gaming. If you spend, say an hour, playing online gaming is it all free? If you have to pay will it just be monthly or how long you stay on for?
Will it be like this?

Game title here-playing for 2 hour(s)-price £10
Game title here-playing for 1 hour(s)-price £5

Or is it something completly different?

Thanks.

Yeah, it will be grat I tell ya!

I have to confess I played Phantasy-Star Online on a Dreamcast yesterday. It was bl00dy amazing! I hope similar things come onto the PS2 - especially if it is Star Wars related!

Patience... you will be able to in the not-so-distant future.

Check Special Reserve's news site, http://upwire.com for news on Sony's online plans.

Sorry zell, you've got the wrong end of the stick. There are no on-line demos.

The only freely available playable demo of GT3 is the one on the latest issue of the Offical PlayStation 2 Magazine.

The 'online demos' you are referring to are video clips, which are downloadable from many of the game-related web sites. This very site has several, if you have a look around.
