I've recently been looking at some TFT monitors, i currently have a 17" CRT monitor and am wanting to upgrade to a 17" TFT monitor. When lookin on SR it says that a 15" TFT is equal to a 17" CRT monitor, is this true?

Also if you are looking for a TFT which you are planning on using for games i'd recommend one with a Low response time, the one i have is 16ms so, so no more than 20ms (some 25ms have no ghosting), otherwise if the reponse is high you will get lots of ghosting (movement dragging) in FPS games especially, i'm surprised no one has mentioned this as this was one that that i looked up on before buying.

Why the funk are you considering getting a 15" one when 17" is only £200?

Or when 18.1" is only £250!

1 last question, it says "Panel size 15" (381mm)" is this the viewable area or the size of the actual monitor?

Does a TFT monitor have the same connections as a CRT monitor? Will i simply just need to plug it into the socket on my grpahics card and install the drivers or are there other connections? The monitor i'm looking at has an analogue connection i dont know if my comp has an anologue port, so what would i need to do to get one?

Sync's your frames per second to the monitor refresh rate for better quality image. If you turn it off you get texture flickering but you get more fps as it doesnt have to sync with your monitor.
