I am new to the sport. I fish in a local stream and have already caught loads of small roach and dace as well as a few big ones. I have also caught lots of perch weighing around the 1 lb. There is this bush just opposite the spot i fish in, it holds a few big chub about 18 inches and bigger. Could any one tell me how i could draw these chub out from under it so i can try to catch them, and what bait works best with chub. thanks

A bit of cheese may tempt the blighters or perhaps a fly/lure? Otherwise grenade the stretch of river from 20 minutes and then wade in to reap (in a landing net reaping motion) your bounty.

That bait that looks and smells like Rabbit Food. Ground Bait, is it?

Anything that wiggles about in a attractive way.

Bait the floor with loads of maggots a hour or two before you start to fish, just to get them feeding confidently.

Then either a big wad of maggots or a worm on the hook.
