iv just got my replacement ps2 today..u mentioned about the new mechanism...how can you tell if you have got it or not?

I deal direct with SCE UK headquarters because i don't trust the HELPLINE people after all the hassle i had with my pre-order. I got my information from a nice guy called Vishal, who is a PR with SCE UK.
My new PS2 is quieter than my old one, and seems to load slightly faster too. (Maybe it's just me thinking it though.)

i also take it that the laser pick up will make the reading louder? cos i have noticed that its slightly louder on ps2 games
