If we are all honest with ourselves, for good or bad, Sony's Playstation won the last war, Nintendo took the silver with the N64 and poor Sega took Bronze with their Saturn AND Dreamcast. For whatever reason, most likely games, the Playstation was in the spotlight from 1995 to 2000, but with such powerful machines already out and coming out over the next year, it may not be the games that are the final deciding factor. Now all the consoles to be released will play DVD's and CD's more and more games developers like Square and Konami might open their offers to say Nintendo and Microsoft who have either run purely cartridge games or not been present in the market.
So, with the second round done with, we now focus all our attentions to the new consoles and already people are saying that the Playstation 2, doesn't have the presence of the PSX and will be overcome by the Gamecube which in turn will fall to Microsoft's X-Box because of it's power. But regardless of power we can still see this Defence coming into play. I don't want to say which console will be the better, not because of making enemies but simply because I think that they all have great potential to do well and any of them could take the throne, but point proven, the only reason we don't like other consoles is because we are scared that ours is inferior!

The Game
> Sony DID NOT win the war!
I was reffering to the CONSOLE wars but Nintendo are very dominant and will be packing quite a punch over the next year when their Next-Gen machines are out worldwide! But if we take the consoles then the PSX was the more popular and plus the Gameboy Colour was Nintendo's 3rd attempt or there abouts after the Gameboy and GB Pocket and on top of this they had No Competition. But I wouldn't say that Sony were any better than Nintendo with the lastability, I just think that maybe they are even and that games only last as long as people are willing to play them....different people different tastes!

*ahem* Nintendo had the biggest share of the gaming market last year, second was Electronic Arts so Sony DID NOT win the war!
If you are going by the actual machines then check out that lil handheld with only a few buttons called the Gameboy Color!
