I've got a bad neck from an old trampolining accident anyway, but last night I think I slept on my front with my face pointing forwards. Feels like someone has tried to snap my head off backwards. Ouch.

That happened to me once after a heavy party in Devon. I woke up the next morning and moving my neck caused massive pain. I think i'd trapped a nerve while asleep.

Initially, I thought I'd broken my neck. Then I realised I was still alive.

You can still be alive after having broken your neck, you know ;0)

how do you sleep like that? were you pished?

slightly different subject, but what about when you lie on your arm, and it's so dead, that you have to pick it up with your other hand and throw it off the bed. then you can drift off to sleep, with an incredibly intense pins and needles sensation flowing through your arm.

after doing that I find my arm is a bit docile for most of the next day, i.e. it's efficiency isn't what it could be, it feels a little cold, I have a tingling in my fingers etc.

can't be good for you can it?

I hate that. I fell asleep with a guitar on my chest and had pins and needles from the waist down. Thought I had broken my back.
