Then came Sky One's Gamesworld, an ambitious project which was shown 5 days a week. There were 3 types of the programme. Monday, wednesday and Friday was the 'eliminator' where geeks would try and beat each other on games like Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario World. Tuesday was a strange Show called 'Big Boy Barrys Joypad', and featured some ridiculous, and in some cases hilarious antics by some lesser known comedians.
Thursday (I think) was GAMES MISTRESS night. Bloody hell, surely it's not right to have that kinda stuff aimed at the younger audience. Diane Youdale (Jet from Gladiators) in a rubber, cleavage enhancing, figure hugging dress, messing about on a bed, flirting with the camera while giving out gaming cheats. Strangely I can't find ANY pictures of this anywhere on the net, or kazaa, which I wanted for educational purposes. Sure made thursday evenings something to look forward to though.
Ah happy days
What do we have now? Cybernet, which is gash and features the cheesiest american voice ever, and Game Pad, with that daft bint Violet Berlin, who looks like a Japanese cartoon character, and speaks like one too. And that Gamezville that Beards mentioned, which I have yet to see, although experience tells me it'll be a crock.
What was that one on ITV called, early nineties, I think Gaz Top was in it .... can't remember.
AAAAAAARGH
i do seem to remember in my inquisitive youth while flicking through the channels i saw Jet or someone who was her twin stripping off naked on the Playboy channel, an image which has carried with me to this day.
I miss those days :-D .......... anyway back to games shows ...... cough cough.
*sigh*
back to good old fashioned porn then
> Remember these shows, most of you will remember Gamesmaster with
> Patrick Moore babbling rubbish about cheats, with Dominik Diamond
> being as sarcastic as possible to bawling nerdy kids, as they failed
> to win a 'golden joystick'. Of all the computer games shows this is
> the one I remember most fondly.
Yes, i remember this. Used to be very good, when i were a lad.
Now in this day and age when playing videogames is considered acceptable and even 'cool' there's not a decent show to be seen. Like you said, Cybernet sucks and Game-Pad 3 is still reviewing Pong and calling it a breakthrough title (bit of an exaggeration but you know what i mean :D) and trust me Gamezville is as rubbish as it sounds. You get 'expert' opinions from little annoying kids like:
*i fink da grafix are wikked*
and what about the gameplay?
*game.....what? ...... still grafix are wikked man*
