Yes we did have a VERY poor start to the season against Birmingham so i will skip that and talk about our game at Leeds.
Carr had an absolute blinder, with a great freekick to make the goal and maybe could have had one himself. Richards and King had a strong game and didn't look like letting many past. Tarrio well i'll come back to him.
Our midfield played ok but Ricketts, what a debut match. I thought losing Etherington was bad but this guy could replace him permanently even if he was still here. Nothing exceptional from Redknapp as cap'n and daies was a bit quiet.
Right now the hard bit our forwards. Why was Keane not playing? Answers needed. Well Zamora played well should have scored, didn't, came off. Kanoute, great goal on his debut, that's what we payed roughly 3 mil for. And Postiga still goaless but not for lack of trying. Poor guy had at least 5 shots a few milimetres away, c'mon God give 'im a goal.
Now back to Taricco. Colourless said a few weeks ago he sucked ass, well maybe he was right but on yesterdays performance he wasn't. Didn't let a thing past. Came very close with a long ranger, then two minutes later bought it from the halfway line and 25 yards out *BANG* spurs are level. What a goal Tano.
This is all except for a quick comment on chelsea. Chelsea looked really bad last week and i think were lucky to win. Carlo made a great save after 30 secs but liverpool were all over them first half. Gopod goal from Veron then Jimmy (who is now back) does what jimmy used to do best, scores. With a penalty in the middle (lucky Owen) chelsea win 2-1 and a good 2nd half performance.
Second match i didn't see but with all these stars, should have beaten leicester by more. Mutu sent off am i right?
Well there you go my insignificant post on tottenham. Good to be back.
Having watched Zamora in 2 highlighted games so far for Spurs he looks like a competent player but nothing special, im not trying to degrade him at all but i think he will struggle in the big leauge much in the same way that Morrison has/does for Birmimgham (so far at least) Both players look nothing more than 10 goals a season standard as things currently stand yet both would easily muster 25 goals (and have done so) in Div 1.
Postiga and Keane is perhaps Spurs best strike force but only time will tell.
Why was Keane not playing?

Wasnt he injured midweek playing for Ireland? Out for a few weeks with ankle injury or somthin?
To attempt to draw comparisons between Chelsea and Man Utd is foolhardy... there is still a mammoth gap between the 2 sides and to think otherwise may only lead to dissapointment.
Like i said yesterday 'if' Chelsea can stay close to Man Utd and Arsenal by Jan 1st then who knows what may happen... i just dont see Chelsea in the same light as the top 2 teams tho and im sure many many other people would agree that the Premiership is currently about 2 teams with 4 or 5 other teams all playing bridesmaid - Chelsea are one of the 4 or 5 teams but no more.
By saying you expect us to win by more implies how highly you think of us, do man utd walk away from these ground four, six, eight nil winners. No not with any consistency they may have had a big win on opening day but not many people would say that, although united deserved the victory, the score line was very harsh on bolton. and it is as easy to pick up occassions towards the ends of last season were man utd or arsenal lost out to bad teams, with last seasons opposing game with bolton being an appropriate comparison. Some times the top teams can play badly and get a huge score line, and sometimes they can play brilliantly and walk of the pitch with nothing or just a point. it happens, thats football.
Chelsea were pretty damn good yesterday, in reality leicester had maybe 2 chances in that game, and thats not counting the goal as that wasn't even a proper chance but instead a ridiculously classy finish! chelsea won the game and hit the post and crossbar with very good work that deserved more, joe cole easily earned his goal, but didn't get it. and hasselbaink was unlucky his chance hit the inside face of the post and ran a long the inside of the six yard box.
Although Brian Deane came close Chelsea were always comfortable, even after Geremi went of they were permanently camped in the leicesesters half. Anyone who knows anything about football knows the total mnumber of goals scored are not always a reflection of the style and quality the team has put in. Sometimes the scrapiest of games ends up 3-0, were as the quality game ends up 1-0, who knows why? a quality performance by a keeper, excess heat increasing the ball pressure and effecting its ball flight, a damaged toe, a dodgy ref, chinese betting syndicates blowing fuses in the flood lights, the beauty of football is that though it has its factors which remain RELATIVELY constant-the quality of the sides, skills of individuals, it has its random factors, if having quality guaranteed victory then there would be no game.
At the moment Real would collect the Champions league every year and there would be no point in playing the game. Football's beauty is that though it has these relative constants it also has the random factors, nobody can predict that nalis being distracted by desailly would lead to him heading into his own net. Infact if you think about it any one inconsequential action in the game permanently affects the fate of the game, if you munt the ball into touch you completely rewrite the "fate" of the future of the game, randomness is as much a part of the game as anything else, which is the reason you can't predict a result, to say chelsea didn't perform well because they only won 2-1 is stupid you have to look at incidents and the performance as a whole which was in fact the performance of a top level team.
