I'm not really one for "classical" music as such. However, I heard this piece of music a couple of years ago, yet failed to discover it's name. Since then, I've been painstakingly attempting to find out it's name.

I never did.

Until now.

It was on the radio of a taxi I was in last night, and the driver said to me "Good piece of music that is", or something generally along those lines.
I took my chance. I swooped in with the line of questioning in a vain attempt that this, what seemed to be, a simple man, unknown to te world of classical music, knew the title of the song.

He did.
Woo.

Adagio for Strings is probably the only piece of classical music that I particularly like.
It's a wonderful spiraling piece of sombre music, that is heart felt throughout.

Most of you aren't classical music fans, or at least I would think not.
But try this piece of music, and just listen to it.

KaZaA isn't a good choice, considering the fact you'll get the shortened, techno/danced up version, that has basically murdered this great piece of music.

It's around 9 mins long - as a lot of stringed pieces of music are.
There's no words involved, only strings.
And it's great.

everyone knows the title adagio for strings, it was released as a dance track not so long ago, and it was the theme tune of platoon.

a beautiful gut wrenching lament.
also a banging dance tune.
