Championship Manager 97/98 was easy, but still annoying at times.
Championship Manager 3 was completely new. New options, more advanced, overall better, but harder.
Championship 99/00 was much of the same.
And now Championship Manager 00/01 is out. It's a lot better, it has a lot more options, a lot more can happen, yet in my case, it's seemingly, even harder.
The latest addition to the brilliant Championship Manager series (surely the best management games ever?) is better than its predessecors. It now features leagues from 26 different countries from all over the World, a lot more things to be able to do like respond to media such as newspapers, radio shows and websites (this was done in the previous Champ Man, but there a lot of new sentences and ways to defend or criticise your players), a lot more information on players, coaches, clubs, competitions, nations etc, and the ability to ask the FA or your board questions or favours.
You can also name your players, and ask the physio or coach on how your players are doing.
Players also seem to do more 'thinking'. They have a lot more reasons to be unhappy, as I've found with my current club, PSV Eindhoven. Most of my players seem to be saying they are, "dismayed at the lack of harmony at the club" and they are, "disappointed at the club's poor league position."
BUT, they can be nice to you as well. Sometimes, if you defend them against the media, they will repay you by training extra hard, or paying you compliments such as, "wishes there were managers like you." :)
Anyway, as usual, the commentary is brilliant. You get to choose from 5 types of speed, and there is such a range of sentances used, that not many are repeated. Unlike Champ Man 97/98, were half the time it was, "He's through on goal!" or, "He can't miss!"
The sound is okay, but the sound is the crowd at the matches, so there's not much to talk about there.
This may be extremely frustrating, but it is rewarding, and it will keep you playing for a long time.
If you have a lot of patience, and like football, then I recommend this game to you. If you don't have a lot of patience, but like football, then I still recommend this game to you. If you don't have a lot of patience, and you don't like football, then I don't think this game is for you.
But, most people have patience, and most people like football, and this game, is the greatest football managerial game EVER.
Thanks for reading, Ant.

Ah, but mine does have humour in it. {:)
