Apparently, two games have been dropped, an American Football game, and a racing game, and some of the staff have been moved oveer to the Metroid game, and an RPG project.
Speculation would lead us to believe that either Retro are falling behind their targets, and need to get back on track, or that Nintendo are pushing them to get the game done ASAP, as they prepare for launch.
Or is it the start of the N64 saga again? Plenty of games in the pipeline, then half of them never see the light of day.
Of course if developing for the Gamecube is as easy as Nintendo would have us believe, then dropping these games is probably due to other priorities. Why bother with an American Football game, when EA and Sega will be bringing their franchises this way? But to drop a racing game? What else has Nintendo up it's sleeve?
Metroid is a platformer, not a shoot em up.
They have Metriod on their list. Metriod has a VERY large fan base in the USA... if they mess it up, they are going to have riots on their hands...
Geek riots. And no-one wants that.
