I am looking for help in manipulating an email message. I need to send a message in the present and have the reciever view the message as having been sent in the past. Is it possible? Can anyone help me?

Email is an unreliable medium, I've had emails arrive months after they were sent for instance. I would expect (though I can't check atm, my computers are in bits around me) that the sending and receiving mailserver timestamps each message when they see it. If you don't check the email headers though, it may not be obvious.

Put the clock back on your PC, send yourself an email and inspect the results.

Possible but pointless. You obviously want to send some kind of time sensitive email that you didn't, hence want to make it appear you did. Anyone with a brain knows email is near instant, hence any massive time delay between it being sent and received will look extremely suspect.

You can maniplulate E-mail headers if you send it with PHP. It's doable but a pain. What do you want this for?

Oh, another way to do it would be to put the clock back on your computer. Maybe.
