Email is an unreliable medium, I've had emails arrive months after they were sent for instance. I would expect (though I can't check atm, my computers are in bits around me) that the sending and receiving mailserver timestamps each message when they see it. If you don't check the email headers though, it may not be obvious.
Put the clock back on your PC, send yourself an email and inspect the results.
Oh, another way to do it would be to put the clock back on your computer. Maybe.
