Charlton Athletic have signed Paolo Di Canio on a one-year deal after the Italian playmaker was released by West Ham at the end of last season.

More information here: http://msn.skysports.com/ skysports/article/0,,1-1100016,00.html

Also Kleberson has received a work permit to play his trade in the Premiership.

He should launch Charlton's attack further, if you ask me: They MAY even challenge for Europe this season. It's always good to see smaller teams in Europe, like Ipswich recently- they humbled Inter, which is something we all like to see- giantkilling.

I think he'll be a great signing for the Addick's,Alan Curbishly should keep him under control better than Roeder could, and he'll give them a spark on the pitch.
We miss him at Upton Park already.

Over the last year-or-so, I've become a big fan of Paulo Di Canio - mainly for what he's done for West Ham, and how he never gave the team any less than 120% of his effort in their fight for Premiership-survival.

When all-talk of him signing fora new club after the Hammers appeared to die-down, I was concerned that we may never see Di Canio in the Premiership - or even, ever again.

I was even hoping Sir Alex Ferguson was willing to pursue his past interests in him, just to see him in the Premiership, again.

He's a Premiership player - and nothing less.

Charlton may not be the most glamorous team in the country, but Di Canion'll still be able to express himself, and carry the team through any bad patches, to survival - single-handedly.
