Ok, I've downloaded the entire season one of 'Scrubs' (excluding one episode i cant get hold of "114: my drug buddy") And i want to make a DVD.

I have a DVD burner, I was just wondering, are any of you guys DVD artists? Any Speilbergs out there that can help me?

I want to know what format the files need to be in (there currently in .avi)

Also what software would you reccomend?

I want to make a menu, nothing flash, just somthing where you can navigate through an episode list and press play to see that particular episode. Can anyone help?

Any replies will be apreciated.

avi format doesnt work straight onto DVD. You need to convert the avi file into a file which works on DVD. The new Easy CD Creator has this built in and is pretty good, but your looking at convert times of 1.2 seconds for each real time second if you have a top of the range PC. Also you may need to re-encode the audio depending if its AC3 5-channel or MP3.
