Would a US Dreamcast work in the Uk with Uk games? Would I need an adaptor, a disc, a new tv?

GET ONE! For starters, if u go to the US alot, the game sare far cheaper. In addition, they run faster (since not all PAL games have 60Hz option), and the cost to convert is less than the European DC's lower price! Oh, and chips let u play japanese and European games too u know!

I can get an American Dreamcast free, you see, so that's why I'm interested...

But I'm not sure if the cost of getting an American Dreamcast "free" is more than just buying a UK one...

Grix, why not get a UK dreamcast and get the UK Action Replay cartridge, then play US games. I believe that you can get hold of the 56k modem seperately anyway, so you could upgrade the UK one if that's what you want it for.

You would need a stepdown transformer for the mains, a tv that accepted NTSC signals (most new ones do and any TV that plays import videos will) and a 'cheats' disc like the Action Replay one, but from the US.

The disc is probably the hardest part to get, obviously you would need a US one rather than the uk one, but I'm sure you can get it from a good import shop. What is more likely is that the import shop will chip US Dreamcasts to play UK games anyway.
