Anyway, Italian supercup (champions league final replay!) was played tonight in New york @ the giants stadium and shock! horror! it was goal less after 90 minutes.
So the Silver goal rule came into effect!
Basically, if you score in the first half of extra time you win the game if you are still winning at half time in extra time. But another 15 mins will be played if the other team equalise.
So pirlo scores a penalty for milan (cheeky chip against a £30M keeper!) in like the last minute of the first half and ya think its all over! But Juve go straight down the other end and score through trezeguet! Giving us an extra 15 mins!
And Juve win on pens with brocchi missing for milan and ferrera "so old he used to play with Maradona" scoring the winning one.
Top stuff
I think it's a daft rule. They've played for 90 minutes, and it's still a draw, so just go straight onto penalties!
Nowhere else does it. UEFA = Europe.
> Did the Americans invent it?
Not too sure, but thats what it sounded like from the eurosport commentators.
