They have a midfield with Davies (and possibly an aging poyet) the only consistent performer and the only one likely to match their aspirations to reach the top.
So he Buys 3 more strikers to use even though he's already got the classy keane, The kanoute deal is blatantly a done deal and so they have 3 strikers who'll be expecting to start and zamora to intergrate. This is all fine and well but surely he is neglecting the midfield.
Why on earth is he buying Kanoute, If he has 4.5 mill burning a hole in his pocket and a secret thing for the west ham, surely he'd be much better of buying cole for a bit more and actually giving his forwards some supply, Don't like Joe cole? David dunn was passed up for 5 mill, scotty parker is clearly available and mark van bommel is a class act who said he wouldn't mind degrading him self at the lane.
As much as i like to see a rival team wasting money, the supporters deserve more. If they sign kanoute and leave the likes of joe cole at the hammers without even trying to sign him, i'd be quite annoyed if i was a spurs boy.

Lol, taricco is one of the worst left backs i have seen in ages.

Hmm, think your forgetting that blackburn have spent their duff money well, signing emerton and amoruso, and they have thompson, cole, yorke, matt jansen, and of course the 2nd best keeper in the league (behind the mighty CARLO). spurs fans dont get too excited, you've seen it all before.......
Anyway, yes the loss of etherington is a huge one, even though he may not be up to european standards. He was the only left sided player we had who actually looked to go forward. We could now play Ziege there but as was said he is not ready for the new season.
Our goalie had a blinder last year and hopefully he will repeat that this year and rival brad freidel for the USA spot.
Our defense is good as lonf as we have dean richards. We have Carr who hasd been approached by a few big clubs, with richards and the south african capain in the centre, with a tempremental (sp?) but half decent left back in the form of Tarrico.
Our midfield as i say does have davies and poyet, with redknapp a useful induction if he is fit. Along with this is Dazza who is getting on but his 30 yeard free kick showed us what he kis still capable of. And then there's thequestion of out left midfield. We still have a few million left to spend so hoddle had damn well better buy us a lefty.
And upfront we do have a class act. As was said, Postiga has many skills, is quick and will bang in a few. We now have kanoute who will act as the target man for all our high balls in. Then there's Keane who showed us last season what he can do with 14 goals and hopefully more to come. And finally Zamora who i think is a great player but will not be Hodd's first choice as he has never played in the premeirship or anything of equal standards.
So with all this into account i feel Hodd will play a 4 3 3 looking something like this.....
Keller
Carr Richards Mabizela Tarrico
Davies Redknapp Ziege
Keane Kanoute Postiga
.....maybe playing poyet in an attacking midfield position.
With what looks like a half decent team, and blackburn without diff, i would be looking at a european spot for spurs this season, probably coming in in that 6th place spot.
I was sure he signed for them months ago, but, I'm also certain I saw the same former-Bolton striker playing in a Middlesbrough shirt?
So, I'm still confused!
But, as great as some of these players have the potential to be, I really do not understand what Glenn Hoddle is playing at!
And why did he let Matthew Etherington go so easily?
Who else do they have to play down the left-wing??
Good to see he'll be bringing in some midfielders, though.
Strangely enough it wasn't the midfield that was the problem, it was the defence without Dean Richards. My god, the first goal was quite hilarious defending, and the second, Eindhoven's danger man, the one everyone knew was a threat, Arjen Robben, waltzed through the defence, and had two attempts at goal, the second a pass into the net.
Postiga, Poyet and Ricketts were all pretty damn good though. Especially Postiga, He was very skillful.
Perhaps Hoddle is pioneering some new idea about playing strikers in midfield, or some sort of 4-2-4 formation.
After all, the guy is mad!
