But how long will it last, is it another attempt from Sega to boost what they can of their Dreamcast, I feel that the decision to focus more of their attentions of the Nintendo gamecube and Gameboy Advance is a good decision, not just for Nintendo fanatics but for Sega and their financial future, I think that although they won't make as much as they might if they had a successful Dreamcast console they will still making a lot of money and in turn increase in their popularity, and without worrying about peripherals they will be able to concentrate on producing some real good titles for the systems they develop for.
The Sega - Nintendo RPG may be another of Nintendo's Want-To-Be secrets because it was only revealed about a month ago that Sega had a GAMECUBE Delevopment kit, not just GBA kit since November, this could mean that the RPG is coming a long a lot better than expected!
But back to the original topic, I think that Sega now realise that they won't make the millions that they'd have hoped and that they are feeding their future in a way with going out with a bang and starting up as a whole new Sega to work purely on software. The thing is that Sega are a lot more valuable than, I feel, both Nintendo AND Sony think. Sega aren't just about the Dreamcast and Sonic the Hedgehog, they have quite a number of trade marks and have a lot of very worthwile charachters and game titles copyrighted!
I think that who ever gets the most out of Sega whether it be Nintendo Sony of even late comers Microsoft, they will be the ones that see their sales figures go up and they will also have a much bigger chance of making more of their console, so this ripple effect may not be just about games going cheap NOW...but about VERY important factors in the future of the industry! I can only hope that whatever Sega do they make enough money to keep on bringing the spark to games in the way that only Sega know how.
