In other words, you start off at www.propersite.co.uk, but immediately you find yourself at www.something.btopenworld.com/propersite/index.html (or similar). Not so pretty.
I can't suggest many ways of making it look as though you're still on the "proper" domain. Framess are the only way I can think of, and I don't think he wants to get into frames. He obviously can't transfer the domain name to BT, because they don't do hosting. OK, he could kick BT's broadband and swap to Freeola, or take the hosting elsewhere and transfer the domain from Freeola.
But, meantime, is there a tech way of "concealing" the true URL in the address bar?

That way, the original URL would always be in the address bar. As long as he doesn't have any frame-busting content such as TARGET="_TOP" in any pages, it should work well enough.
Although as freeola support php, he could probably do a similar, which involves put the main site on the freeola server, and then either make a system so that it can be edited via text boxes online, or include the actual content from the BT servers (basically, create a dynamic website).
Be much easier to just use www.staghosting.com, mind ;)
