Another Factor with be the money, not the cost but the money that Microsoft put in to the X-Box to make it what it will be, I think that with all that green behind it it will go a damn sight further than expected otherwise. I don't think there will be a prblem with games, as more and more developers are signing, and although the X-Box doesn't boast as many developers as say the Gamecube it still has Oddworld and EA under its belt and Malice to go with them.
So they are, in my view the main advantages, but think about it there has got to be disadvantages as well, but do they out weigh the advantages,...Not in my book...
But hold on, Team X-Box have taken much of their strategy from other companies, they took the ' set up two new programs that enable independent game developers to hit the Xbox (a la Gamecube) with powerful games ' but do they know what they're doing, I don't think that old Hiro will let them onto his strategy just yet, so i think unless they have found their own way to sort this out then they might be in a bit of a shock!
And I don't think that so far from Release they can say that all these companies:
Acclaim Entertainment, Inc.
Activision, Inc.
Codemasters Software Company Ltd.
Crave Entertainment, Inc.
Eidos interactive Ltd.
Electronic Arts
Fox Interactive
