God I hate NT but don't have any choice at work.
I can get onto this site at home with XP fine but it won't load on NT based system

http://216.xxx.xx.55:2082

It is the control panel for my webhosting package.

(the five xx's replace five digits as I think it remembers my log on and password and I am worried the whole world to be able to get in!)

Any ideas ?, already tried and adjusted security, content, cookies but still can't access it.

Would it be my proxy server or firewall preventing access ?

I found a program on download.com that does exactly as Memo guessed, but I'm going to leave it, if I get caught installing things like this at work I will end up getting my bits chewed off (again).

Thanks for all your help.

Those services from which you can't access the page are probably proxied ir restricted, so you can't make connections on anything other than port 80.

It's not a NT problem, tried to log on from work on a Windows 2000 systems and same problem so it must be firewall, will have to start a topic and try and get some more info (will search on google/download.com etc etc first)

Thanks (I've only just read your reply)

A bouncer is a generic name for a bit of software that allows you to redirect a connection. For instance, if your work banned any access to ukchatforums.com but allowed access to your home machine, you could install a bouncer on your broadband connection, connect to it, and connect to ukchatforums.com via that. I have no experience of them other than this general concept though, other than a lot of people use them to sidestep corporate/academic firewalls.

It's very likely your corporate firewall is blocking access to port 2082, which is not NTs fault. If you have a legitimate use for accessing that address at work, speak to your network administrator. If not, expect him to laugh in your face.

If you have broadband at home, you may want to look into setting up some kind of bouncer though :o

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Excellent support service!
I have always found the support staff to provide an excellent service on every occasion I've called.
