My first tutorial on Freeola went down with some mixed emotions, so after using past experience and projects I have completed with my friends, I have decided to do a beginner’s guide to inputting a Flash project you have created into your HTML web site. While using Flash competently requires some time and practise. Once you have made the desired Flash project or even if you know someone who can do this for you. Saving it all to an HTML web site is not all too scary.

Many of you know my technical knowledge is basic but hopefully, if like me you are seeking new ways to enhance your knowledge and make your web site that bit better, then this tutorial could be right up your street!

Embedding Flash
Once you have your finished Flash movie, you can save it. Choose File > Save As from the top menu and then save it as a name you want (in this example – GAD.fla)

To prepare your Flash movie for embedding you will need to make a couple of adjustments, so head back into Flash and into GAD.fla, when you are on the main screen choose File > Export Movie, here you will need to name your project again, call it GAD.swf, then choose the folder you would like to save your Flash movie, save it in your web folder, then click Ok.

Next you will need to open the HTML page where you are looking to insert your newly saved Flash movie. Once it is open then you will need to insert this code;

This little tag is pretty useful for embedding all your flash movies on your website. While it may seem a bit strange to some people to have both the and tag in there, I was given the tip so it is recognised by both Internet Explorer and Netscape (Netscape recognises the tag!!)

So there we have it, another straight forward little tool that is used to make any web page a whole lot more professional, now of course, the better the Flash project then the more visually effective your web page will be, but I know a lot of people who like to use flash for small animations. Combined with this you can have your very own web page for all your animations!

I hope this has helped anyone looking for that little bit extra on their HTML site, thank you for reading and hopefully I will get some more tutorials to aid people looking for some help soon.
