The Third Place ---- What does it mean???

Sonys recent PS2 advertising campaigne says that the PS2 will take you to "The Third Place"... But what does this mean???

From what I can gather its somewhere thats not Work, not home but somewhere else (i.e. The Third Place!).

So what do you think this means??? Do you think the Third place suggests PS2 will end up with the Third best market position after Gamecube and X-box??? Tell me your wild and wacky interpretations!

I have not seen the whole advert so I don't understand it. Does it show footage of games? If I was Sony I would put up SSX, ZOE, Unreal Tournament and Metal Gear Solid 2. Think how much better this would be.

If a child was to see an advert with a ducks head and a man sitting on a bench with someone shouting out THE THIRD PLACE! Or an advert with a classy pic of the PS2 and show game footage of the game’s listen above, what would appeal more to the child more. Hmmmm that's a real brain teaser.

The advert is one you are meant to remember and talk about. Not to be good or sleek but to draw attention to the product. And it seems to have worked.
Try matching the Product to the advert with this
"Whasa" (I carnt type it long cuz they sensor it)

It has no meaning and it’s memorable. Same as the PS2 advert. But if you ask me the third place is a pile of S**T

The adverts sure are confusing, the last one I saw had a deflated man on a park bench. Relaxing maybe, nice purple grass yes, but why???

Thinking about it it maybee something to do with what ssx pro was taking about the other week-
the Stove was the first place to cook toasted sandwiches
the toasted sandwich maker was the second place
and now the PS2 poppy out cup holder thingy is the third (by the way ssx you didn't get back to us with the thawing things out on top servey)
LMAO!! HEHEHE!!!!

Maybee it's like this-

Playstation was the First Place to be
PS One was the Second Place
and now PS2 is the Third Place!

What i want to know is what is the rest of the cr@p they are going on about in add, and whats up with the Duck head?
Someone out there in advertising land saw Sony comming i think and thought "Hey there Japanese they dont even know what we're talking about" "yea Bob tell e'm it's COOL and they'll beleive us hehehe!"
