Is it possible for me to make anyone who links to my games and stuff for their visitors to be told of their bandwith thieving ways?

without me changing all my links to something different as that could just result in them doing the same thing again!

no cause if i did it that way then the other person could simply copy again what is on my site when ive just gone through all the trouble to stop him.

I want a permanant solution to stop everyone not just this one.

If you can't be bothered to solve the problem then it will remain unsolved. One ceases to ask the question when one receives the answer.

I can use php for my site.

I have complained to geocities but they keep sending me back their copyright policy every time.

The email address they show on their site is not a real one as well so i cant tell them.

They have now even stole my games as well

Does freeola do this .htaccess thing coz my old games and stuff are still uploaded to it. As i could not be bothered changing all my links when i changed hosts.

Hmmm, they're linking to .exe files which would be downloaded so (to my knowledge) you can't do anything about that apart from with htacess. But, like phil said, complain to Geocities.

Plus, for .htaccess

In a .htaccess file:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?mydomain.com/.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg)$ http://www.mydomain.com/REPLACETHEIMAGEWITHTHIS.gif [R,L]

or if you just want it to become a broken link (and therefore not take up any of your bandwidth):

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?mydomain.com/.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg)$ - [F]

...But like I say, it depends on the set-up, so I need the link.

You can break out of frames, I know that, not sure if it applies to iFrames. But if it's not in an iFrame I'm pretty sure I can rig a script together that means the visitors will be redirected to your site.

There is a way that if you externally link to a site, it will show an image saying blah blah blah...

But if they open the thing up in an IFrame or a though, I think you're stuffed...
