On another pc(this is for my friend) it keeps saying 'Out of scan area'
DFoes anybody know how to fix this? You can see the 'windows' loading screen but when it gets to the desk top it goes black and says 'Out of scan area'. Please help beloved forum users!

Monitor might not be compatible with the res/refresh rate its on. So try wwhat they say first.. but also make sure he has a monitor driver installed rather than default monitor.

If the list does not appear on startup when you press F8, press Ctrl instead

Boot it in safe mode (hammer F8 at startup, and select safe mode when the menu appears) and select a lower resolution. I think the monitor is complaining that it can't handle the resolution/refresh rate.
