Could someone please help me. After my problems yesterday I deciced to switch my OS to Windows XP. I have purchased Windows XP but before I start formatting the hard drive and deleting the 98 partition I want to find out the exact details of my sound card. My PC is around 6-7 years old and because Packard Bell are such idiots they didn't give me any information regarding my sound card. I have gone to the Network Drivers ection but I can not find the name of my sound card. I basically want to get XP drivers for my Sound and Graphics cards so that when I go to add new hardware I will have the drivers ready for installation.

Any help would be appreciated, thankyou.

Windows XP is has a good driver database and there is a good possibilty it will find the driver automatically.

Open the case and take a look at the cards plugged into the PCI slots (they are white colored)

If theres nowt there then its probably built in with the motherboard. Check the motherboard manufacturerers site.

Could try visually inspecting the soundcard, or if it's onboard, typing your motherboard/computer model number into the web and seeing if anything there can help you.
