I'd like to ask for your opinion on this matter.

I'm undecided as to whether I should use a JavaScript mouseover event, or standard links on the site.

At the moment, it's set up so when you mouseover the links, the images will change to represent the correct air vehicle. If someone doens't have JavaScript, the

Hi all.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Summer sun.

But if you have a moment, could you check the site again for me.
http://www.chrisjhaig.co.uk/ViceCity/

The bikes, boats and air section have kept the rollovers, but I've done away with that in the cars section.

But what I am really asking for is any comments on the 'Hotspots' section.

The Paint 'n' Spray page should use rollovers like the vehicle pages did.

The 8-ball section should be static images and text, with a small 'detonator' image placed within the text, but not obstructing it.

The Easter Egg section should be static text, a static map image but a scrolling section with 10 in-game images.

Does it look as I've described it should??

Thanks.

.. I know, the real site is on Freeola servers, this is just to test it before I upload it (and so none of the other pages are uploaded).

And thanks for the tip.

I'd make the preload call a lot earlier up in the HTML. The browser executes the script as soon as it reads it and where it is now it will not execute immediately the page is accessed. Put the script right up in the top part of the .

But I like the mouseover, so leave it as it is.

Oh by the way, the first page gives an error. And nothing loads...

Definitly need a loading screen, the last car didn't appear for aaaaages as it had to load all the other images first. I'm on 150kb/s so the poor 56kers wil be there for years!

Or you could make it pop up in a small window like the user stats here do. Make the page quicker to load...

Could be a good idea. It took a couple of seconds to load for me, I was running the mouse over the links and nothing was appearing, until it loaded...

.. of course you can .. just take the code from the site you find it on :)

Do you think if I place an 'images loading' image in the space where the pictures would go would be suitable?

I like the mouseover event you've got there.

Although maybe you should tell people about the hover over thingy as it akes a few seconds to loads and it appears to do nothing...
