can someone explain to me, why we dont have a system on the internet whereby: if you have a voucher for a shop, it has a code on and you enter that code online with your order?

it seems a simple idea to me. if we can do banking online then why not this simple idea. sorry if there are certain sites that already use this, or is there a hacking problem here?

Fraud.

Far too easy to just enter random numbers hoping to get lucky. Vouchers aren't that important to shops once they've been bought so it's not worth the risk of losing money because of fraud...
