Hm, my memory fell apart abit there - still, the tomshardware charts stick the ti550 about 1500 points ahead - not as big a difference as I remembered.

Either way rob, I'm sure your score's mysteriously gone down ;)

A Radeon 9000 is a budget-but-pretty-much-as-quick equivalent of the 8500, and I get 8300ish on 3DMark2001. It should be in the same performance bracket as a TI550.

Rob, you have a ti550, an R9000 is nowhere near that in terms of performance...it's a cut down version of a budget card ffs =) However, it's about as good as laptops get, until the mobile 9600 is about. Bear in mind that these are all mobile chipsets, not identical to the desktop ones.

And I'm sure you used ot get more than 9000 points.. =P

No really, an R9000 is about equal to my graphics card and I get 9000 points or so.

Q3 Becnchmarks: (usings standard display options in System, nothing altered)

Demo 001

Fastest 84.9fps
Normal 72.3fps
Hi Quality 40.2fps

Demo 002

Fastest 89.3fps
Normal 77.8fps
Hi Quality 44.6fps

Not bad for a laptop with onboard Intel graphics, nothing drops below 40fps, I expect you'll all be able to pee all over those figures though ?
Will benchmark with UT2003 tomorrow.
Any other laptop gamers out there ?
