Oh, and I've been working in 2D animation too, but I'm a terrible terrible draftsman, so not much has come from it. I'm doing some paintings which I'm going to work into it somehow, but other than that no..
I'm just working on making 3D animation more fluid. There seems to be this problem of characters just seeming to move from A to B all the time... no flow. Imagine someone running towards a cliff only to screech to a halt leaning backwards so they didn't fall over... 2D animation would have it more cartoony, dust rising, arms flapping backwards while feet slide to a halt... 3D just seems far too realistic at times. I think people don't seem to understand that animation isn't about trying to replicate reality, but doing all the things you can't do in real life. Not just swooping cameras and backflips. Tut.
