Built my new comp yesterday (see PC gaming forum for specs), and am now trying to iron out the niggling problems today, and this is one of 'em.
Floppy drive is showing in device manager (and said to be operating fine), as well as My Computer. However, on POST, the following error message is displayed, afterthe IDE devices have been detected:
Floppy disk(s) fail (40)
Also, the read/write light on the floppy drive is constantly on, needless to say something is wrong. Just having a bit of trouble putting my finger on it. :)
Kind regards.
I actually realised the noddy mistake I'd made about 30 seconds after I posted, but thanks for the input all the same. :)
No major problem. The floppy cable is inserted the wrong way round. Just pull it off and reverse it.
