whether it be a Joypad, or a console there is loads to talk about...
How pleased I was to find out the GameCube was to have wireless
joypads. It
is a great idea and to be frank, about time. I have been in need of
one for
quite a while as the following will account for...
The idea of wireless controllers has been around for years, but it has
taken
a while for anyone to pick up on it with any real emphasis. But what
about
the rest of the leads? The leads at the back which seem to intertwine
the
second you finish untangling them, and then wrap themselves together
taking
hours if you want to untangle them, whilst playing my computer in the
living
room as it has a larger TV, with all kinds of wires stretching to the
TV and
sitting back with my Joypad leads sprawled across the floor, I was
dismayed
as I watched in time-diluting slow motion as my little sister skipped
towards the outstretched wire, and tripped over, promptly ending my
game,
and left her screaming for my parents sympathy. What did she want
sympathy
for? Not noticing the wire that is now 3 inches thick due to the
bonding
between the various wires in the room, ranging from the video, and CD
player
to the Sky and TV lead? Or for ending my hours of hard work, without
having
the luxury of a warning that I should save it? Being in a state of
self
despair I expect my parents to understand that my sister should suffer
dearly for this, after all, it will take me hours to get back to that
exact
same place, and she shouldn't be so clumsy...
What a surprise I had, told to untangle the wires, and that it's my own
fault for having it all across the floor, this did nothing for me!
Where is
the justice? After I had calmed down and spent a few more hours
returning
to my previous position in the game (which included now frequent saves)
I
calmed down and realised that I was being a bit over the top after
apologies
to my sister and promises that it wouldn't happen again, we soon forgot
the
incident. It has happened on numerous occasions. No real harm is done
though, but I decided that the matter should be brought to attention
because
surely there is a better design that could prevent such things from
happening again. What about Hoovers, that retract a lead at the press
of a
button, why do computers not incorporate that, I joypad with
retractable
lead. If anybody reading this designs computer, or peripherals I
implore
you, introduce the retractable cable, if not for my sake, then my
sisters.
Final Fantasy 9 is coming out soon and a repeat of the above could put
her
in serious danger!
"D'oh."
But usually something like that is used to shorten words, such as do not, to don't.
So what did D'oh stand for?
Answers on a postcard to the normal SR address please.
Or is it just Doh!
> didnt copy and paste very well did it, last time i use word to type
